I’m a PACFA-certified counsellor with a Master in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I'm also an accredited telephone crisis supporter with Lifeline and a (co-)facilitator with SMART Recovery Australia, providing group support to people struggling with addiction and chronic pain.
I support young adults and adults, couples and individuals, who are struggling with:
I bring a wealth of lived and professional experiences to the work with my clients. I grew up in former East Germany, lived in London (UK) for many years before moving to Melbourne and worked as an interpreter in community health, courts and adult detention centres, and as a lawyer and employee relations consultant in the commercial and not-for-profit sector - and often in different languages.
All these experiences shaped me and my understanding about the impact of mental health as I witnessed family (including myself), friends, colleagues or clients face mental health challenges. Yet, I felt I lacked the necessary tools to properly support them through these challenges. That was when I decided to follow my calling and retrained as counsellor and psychotherapist. I have not looked back, and feel privileged and honoured to work with and accompany my clients through their own journeys.
When I’m not at work, I love cooking, nature walks, ocean swims, cycling, reading, and discovering new places.
